Roots. Dig. Deep.

Really good farm brewed beer

About

Nestled in the rolling hills of Baltimore County's horse country, Farmacy Brewing at Willowdale Farm is anything but ordinary.

Farmacy Brewing was born over a conversation with family. Growing ordinary farm ingredients, used in extraordinary ways to produce truly one of a kind experiences.  A working farm raising horses, cattle, hay, row crops, fruits, and vegetables, Willowdale Farm strives to preserve the best of Maryland agriculture.

Farmacy Brewing aims to offer a holistic experience to everyone that pays a visit to the farm. A 7-barrel brewhouse gives us the flexibility to constantly rotate what's on tap, while using whatever the season provides us to create unique beers with a true sense of place.

Situated on a working farm meant that we had to balance everything the brewery could be with everything the farm was already providing. This wasn't an easy task. Limited hours ensure that your experience here is really special. The beer we hope you'll enjoy is always fresh, delicious, and unique, and our farmland is sustainably managed so that you are able to come back often.

Willowdale has been a part of our family since 1961, and since the beginning our main focus has been breeding and raising thoroughbred horses. Our Dad, Dr. Michael Harrison, DVM, has been a practicing equine veterinarian for over 40 years, and has based his practice off of Willowdale.  If you would like more information about the vet practice and our connection with horses, please call our veterinary office at 410-771-4095.

Our Tasting Room

Stop by Farmacy Brewing and Willowdale Farm on the weekends to experience our unique beers in a beautiful setting.

A 9-stall horse stable was converted into our brewery and tasting area, nestled in the heart of our farming operation.  Horse pastures and other barns surround the brewery, so you will be immersed in our farm way of life.  Gardens containing blueberry, rhubarb, gooseberry, currant, and elderberry are just a few steps away. Pack a picnic lunch and blanket, take a walk up to the main gardens and orchard, and breath in the farm fresh air.

Are pets allowed ?

Unfortunately, we do not allow pets unless they are service animals. We are a working farm with Thoroughbred horses, cattle, and other farm machinery all over the property. Many of the animals that live here don’t actually belong to us, they belong to our clients that expect a level of care and safety for their animals. Because of this, we ask that you leave the pups at home and enjoy our farm and brewery with your human friends and family.

Do you have food there? Can I bring my own?

We currently do not have a commercial kitchen or food truck permanently on-site, but we are working on it! We offer some light fare in the tasting room like chips, pretzels, beef jerky, etc. and a few NA beverages as well. Outside food is always welcomed, and you may bring whatever you wish to enjoy while sampling our beers and relaxing on the farm. When a food truck or vendor is available, it will be posted on our calendar, and shared through our social media pages.

Sorry, we do not allow outside alcohol to be consumed on premise.

Are you kid-friendly?

Absolutely! We have children of our own, and one of our goals when we started this journey was to offer a space for young minds to learn more about agriculture, where food comes from, and how farm’s work. There are horses steps away from the entrance to the tasting room, tractors and equipment coming and going as the farm operates on a 24/7 schedule. Special events that focus on agriculture will be listed on our calendar and shared via social media pages as they are scheduled.
